Aceclofenac
Indications/Uses
Relief of pain & inflammation in toothache, trauma, lumbago, OA, RA & ankylosing spondylitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Clanza/Clanza S Adult 200 mg daily in 2 separate doses (every 12 hr). Clanza CR Adult 200 mg once daily (every 24 hr).
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take w/ or immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to aceclofenac, diclofenac or other analogues; asthma (may precipitate attacks of asthma, acute rhinitis or urticaria), active peptic ulcer. History of CVA, MI, CABG, uncontrolled HTN, CHF NYHA II-IV.
Special Precautions
Symptoms of GI disorders, history of gastric ulcer, moderate to severe hepatic, cardiac or renal impairment. Patients recovering after surgical treatment. Concomitant use w/ diuretics. Person who drinks alcohol regularly. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery in patients suffering from dizziness, vertigo or other CNS disorders while taking NSAIDs. Monitor liver & renal functions. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly. Childn <6 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Dyspepsia, abdominal pain, nausea; rash, urticaria, symptoms of enuresis, headache, dizziness & drowsiness.
Drug Interactions
Close monitoring of patients in combination w/ lithium & digoxin, oral antidiabetic agents, anticoagulants, diuretics & analgesics.
